Our Story.

It all started with a voice and a keyboard. Damien White founded Children in Harmony while attending LeMoyne-Owen College, building after-school music clubs to inspire inner-city students. In 2012, he began designing curriculum for charter schools — and the work has grown into Memphis' only fine arts-based care program.

From the beginning, Damien trained artists who sing, dance, and coach sports to manage classrooms with structure and care. Each artist is equipped to lead with joy, discipline, and creativity — using the arts to make academics fun and meaningful.

At Children in Harmony, we believe every child has a gift waiting to be discovered. Our programs are built to pull those gifts forward — using music, movement, and expression to build confidence, character, and academic success.
